There is nothing more exciting for tropical fish lovers out there than choosing the range of tropical fish breeds for their new tropical fish aquarium. You can make a real wow factor in any home with the addition of a tropical aquarium especially if it is one with a large and varied mix of tropical fish breeds that will completely light up your tank, as well as the room it features in.
When choosing your tropical fish breeds be sure to choose ones that live well and happily together and that are the correct size for your tank. There are lots of types of fish to choose from so it is very important to carry out your research before making your purchase.
One breed of tropical fish that makes an appearance in the majority of tropical tanks you will see is the Angel fish. No tropical tank is complete without this breed of fish and it is usually the first type of fish on the shopping list, as they are much loved by all. You can get Angel fish in a variety of exciting colours, from the traditional silver and brown stripe design right through to a huge range of rainbow colours and vibrant patterns.
Angel fish are renowned to be easy to keep, however, they are also known to eat other fish, in particular fish that are smaller than themselves. To keep Angelfish happy they will need a nice sized aquarium that provides lots of swimming space for them. For all fish breeders out there, Angelfish are one of the easiest fish to breed with and once partnered up will breed with their partner for years to come.
Another popular breed of tropical fish is the Archerfish. These fish have a head that is pointy with eyes that are incredibly large. They come in two ranges of colours including yellow-green and brown-black. This breed of fish live the happiest in tanks that have low level water and are decorated with aquarium rocks and tall aquarium plants that reach above the water surface. If you decide on including an Archerfish on your tropical aquarium tank then be sure to only have the one as they are known to attack fellow Archerfish.
The Siamese fighter is an impressive addition to your tank, but again similar to the Archerfish, this breed is known for their aggressive nature so the males should never be kept alongside other male Siamese fighter fish. Female Siamese fighter fish get along a lot better and provide no problems if kept in the same tank.
With so many tropical fish breeds to choose from you will be spoilt for choice when putting together or developing your tropical aquarium, just be sure to follow the breeder’s advice and you will have a beautiful and harmonious tank to enjoy for years to come.
